The speeder II was made to be fast, not just look fast.
Anything that would make it look faster would slow it down, the craft is optimized to have only two square meters frontal cross section.
The vertical wings do enable yaw, but if you bank you can keep speed above 1600 in tight turns. It steers very precise and neutral. The high wing lift (21g dry) might seem over the top, but is fun and does not reduce the top speed.
