If you feel like getting your hands dirty you can use the access hatch to drop down to the bonus ores awaiting pickup. A quick elevator up will take you directly to the the flight deck, onwards to the next stop. If you are really in a hurry, all containers and Mining Units are also in reach from one area on the flight deck. This is a vaguely Asian themed walled palace. The lower hallways of the wall are large enough to accommodate expanded XXL containers. Just push them into the floor a bit. The base is designed to be pushed into uneven terrain, but it would be trivial to add a floor and use it as a large basement.
