The Anisoptera v3 X1 (internal code name: "Fast and Furious") is the latest version of this famous dragonfly-alike designer speedboat. The original designs called for a fast boat that could fit many different types of ship hangars, thus the resulting concept was that of a very slender ship hull. That in return resulted in a low drag amount and therefore high possible speeds if powered adequatly. Overheating starts at 1,800 km/h, first damage at around 2,300 km/h. At the edge of the atmosphere, in suborbit, no damage and overheating, and speeds in excess of 5,000 km/h. The version 3 has the following improvements over V2: - even higher speed (same atmospheric 2,300 km/h as before but now beyond 5,000 km/h suborbit) - slightly increased wing lift capacity - more brake power And the best is: from the outside there is almost no difference! Though not as sleek or sophisticated as her Martian counterparts, the Truman-Class is famed for her sturdiness and reliability, serving as the immovable centre of a UNN Battlegroup through any manner of engagement. Using new and advanced heavy laser weapon systems, the standard Truman-Class may excel in most any situation within fleet engagements or solo missions across the system. Though her acceleration under full load of fuel and ammunition may not reach similar performances as other gunships might boast, the fact that her 6 XL engines are uncommon maneuver models mean she will be able to accelerate and re-align her vector fast enough to still be able to get into range of most any opponent. Ship stats: (stats changed from beta to launch!) - 6 advanced heavy laser L, combined to 1 L gunner seat with an optimal range of 0.86su - can be controlled by a single gunner who may also pilot the ship via remote control.
