Each org depends on the flight skills of their members. Here is a small craft that was, from the very begin, developed to be a training ship, for the role to raise understanding and skills of new gamers as pilots, as navigators, as gunners and as commanders. The craft features all types of seats: - hovercraft seat - navigator seat - gunner seat - commander seat And two eats of each of them - one for the trainee, one for the instructor. There are four standard encampment seats to allow more students to be part of the training and to wait for their turn midair. Each side has a big gate for easiest access for our little freshlings. :-) The small special craft is further equipped with a small gun and ammo box, atmo and space radar, several cargo containers and hub, atmospheric engines, space engines, and even a rocket engine, to allow to teach the full bandwidth. It lifts off at low speed, raises easily, can glide well, and also reaches space easily. The cabin is spacious, and most elements can be reached from inside the cabin - ideal to allow the student to see the links in between elements, and learn how to set links. Adjusters and retro rockets are mostly sunken into the hull to avoid overheating. The cockpit allows a good view, and the instructors sit in the seats behind and slightly above the seats for the trainees. There are two strong bottom space engines for vertical take off from space stations, they have their own fuel tank that should be kept empty during regular flights. My own org uses 5 of these ships at different locations for the training, and other orgs started to use this training ship, too.

My goal in this game has always just been to cruise around and explore, so the focus of the tinkering has been getting something that flies as well as possible, and I am pretty pleased with how it came out so I thought I would share. It is good for about 50t off of Alioth on the basic version depending on skills. Burn speed is up around 1850 so is pretty forgiving if you come back in to atmo a little hot. Container hub and engines centered on 0,0 so it stays balanced regardless of load. All medium engines so nice and fuel efficient. All a single honeycomb type so feel free to replace with your voxel of choice. Stats are listed for the "basic" engine version which uses pure carbon as the weight reference. Engines also easy to swap out, coordinates in the pictures, though it seems you need to pull the ailerons off to place the engines and put them back on when you are done. Whether you are brand new and looking to upgrade but not ready for the big large engine haulers, or have been around a while and just looking to try something different on the cheap, feel free to come by and check them out. The Apollo is a highly efficient and versatile cruiser. The narrow cross section (455m2) enables a larger payload because of less atmo drag. Capable of 5kt cargo lift depending on engines installed, talents and pilot skill. Ensure a soft, plane like landing to avoid overloading the vertical boosters if landing heavy. There is a spacious cargo area that can be outfitted to suit the mission. The standard loadout is 7 L containers, 3 more can be added alongside a M shield to fill the hub capacity if required. The interior is spacious and has crew quarters for the captain, a dedicated resurrection chamber and passenger seating. A landing pad is available at the rear of the ship for shuttles or fighter escorts, as the Apollo is an M core, up to S core size can be docked. The Apollo is designed for everyday use, it has a playful flight profile, is efficient enough to pop to the market for a few items but powerful enough to make those large mission runs or asteroid trips too.

The ship originally conceived by a former player of DU the "Whale Shark" is all space cargo power. The interior is left bare to allow for a personal touch to its owner. There is a placemnt for AGG and extra retro brakes and a sheild if desired. Color choices are your own given the new abilities to the BP. Imperial Asteroid Miner RAAM - - - Officially declared as native imperial design, in dirty taverns and other dark corners of the outer worlds of the Empire it is said that in reality the RAAM is in reality the product of a very questionable co-operation between the engineers of the Empire and some strong forces among the galactic scum, or to be exact, with a certain Bobba Fett - an infamous bounty hunter and contract killer. That would explain some of the details of the ship's design. Her two L-size containers can load plenty of space fuel for the asteroid tracking, and she also has two L-size space fuel tanks. Once an asteroid has been found in safe space, those two containers allow for a long, effective mining. From the space station where she unloaded her cargo, she can also venture into the atmosphere of planets up to 1G. Her inertia is surprisingly well balanced. She features a small compartment at her back from where the hardy space miners can start the tunnel digging. There is an own room for the captain, one for the first officer, and there are seating possibilities for up to 6 more miners. The Nomad R1 is probably one of the most powerful haulers you can buy. It's the luxury version of the Nomad A1. Both have been designed and built with efficiency, superior flight behaviour and a clean, simplistic design in mind. If you enjoy being a freighter, run missions, or simply have a lot of stuff to move, you will enjoy this powerful ship which will not let you down. It's an L-core hauler with excellent stats. Having a torque of 542 to 662 MN.m this ship turns faster and smoother than you would expect from an L-core. It's well balanced layout makes it a joy to fly. An insane break force of 1326 MN allows you to savely operate within the atmosphere, and while the ship of course comes with an AGG, most of us simply land it on a runway as if it was an S-core. The substantial low altitude lift of 621 MN making it possible to bring 30.000t of cargo from Alioth into space, and the ship's slim frontal cross section defies it's huge cargo bay of 10 advanced optimised XXL containers holding up to 12979 kL. Warp drive, reverse engines for clean maneuvering, and over 200 airfoils complete this ship. A dry weight of only 4.3kt tell you that the interior has been reduced to the minimum in order to optimize the flight stats. High quality elements like the rare military atmospheric engines, rare military space engines XL, rare phased-array space radar, and rare capacitor shield generator give you a lot of bang for your buck, and an intelligent placement and linking of all fuel tanks make servicing the Nomad quick and easy. And, if you are not planning to go to space, you will exactly know which tanks you can leave empty, while the tank logic follows a simple balancing method so you will not constantly fly around with much more fuel than you really need. A huge glass cockpit ensures perfect vision, and the clean outline of the ship make parking the Nomad very easy. The R1 comes with ArchHUD by default, but can be ordered with Albatross HUD likewise. The Damage Report script optionally can be casted to two transparent screens in the cockpit, giving you full control of the situation at any time. Of course, as all luxury versions, the R1 has it's logo prominently displayed on it's top. All other decals can be customized upon ordering your ship.
