It will take 1.5 kT without problems, and if you have decent piloting talents, its should also handle 2 kT. I've personally taken 2.25 kT of cargo into space without difficulty, with level 5 buffs and level 4 piloting talents. See stats on the last picture. The outer hull benefits from a honeycomb that has a lot of variation. This is my first fully curved ship and there are some imperfections in the voxels.
