A very fast podracer I built during beta and have revised slightly since the reset. This is an atmosphere-only ship though you may wish to add a space brake for those pesky accidental takeoffs. This should be considered a novelty ship that is not intended to haul. There is no storage built into the ship itself. With appropriate talents, and basic tier flight elements, you can easily reach 1500 kmh in atmosphere. Without talents, you can still likely reach 1500 kmh, but the ship will likely start to burn up.

If you want to hop around quickly between mining units or dash to the store and back for a few items, without taking your large fuel-sucking ship, look no further! The Viper can take you anywhere planetside while having a non-boxy appearance. Just look at the screen shots and note the fine voxel detailing throughout! The ship is outfitted with: -1 container S to hold misc. odds and ends from the market. -overpowered brakes so you can float down to any destination easily. -rounded non-boxy styling from nose to engines. -and more! I loaded the container with 56t of pure iron, hematite and other ores and this ship has no troubles at all flying this, however, although the hovers lift plenty of weight, it can't lift full iron amounts of weight (I can lift about 50% of the Container S full of iron with the hovers). I took off on a straight, smooth surface with all that iron. Sustentation speed is very low (90kp/h!) to it's easy to putt-putt in the air for perfect aim in landing. I also have a compactable version with no container and a single fuel tank in a different dispenser at the same location. Unburdened by the useless mass of atmo elements, it has a solid ~7g of space thrust and a max speed of about 39,000kmh, which lets it race to asteroids quickly to beat the competition. It comes with only two M containers inside, but there are eight racks on the exterior to attach extra containers - giving it a storage volume of up to 1.7ML. These racks are also a good place to attach other elements, such as a shield. The DSAT is built into the BP, but it's easy to remove and reinsert at will with an indicator for precise placement. There's also a slot for a warp drive at the tail of the ship, but it's optional. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES: • The Beltalowda comes with a DRM-free BP of a XS space station so that you can have a place to park the ship when not in use. You'll need another atmo-capable ship to haul the ore down to dirt. • For obvious reasons, don't spawn the Beltalowda in atmosphere. First place a XS space platform or two, then spawn the ship. The platform is DRM free, so you can make a core BP of it after spawning to make more of them. • If you want to convert the Beltalowda into a regular hauler, just remove the DSAT and replace it with 6 L containers, for a total of up to 14 L containers(2.7ML). If you haven't got valuable cargo to transport, warping is often too expensive to justify. The Bantam is a personal craft for planetary travel, market runs and nanopack-sized purchases, transit between the surface to your space station, or an occasional joyride to a nearby moon. It takes off quickly and accelerates to max speed in seconds. The sleek, low-cross-section profile allows re-entry or cruising in high atmosphere at up to 2000 km/h without damage. Albatross HUD makes piloting a snap. The Basic Version can be built entirely in the nanocrafter, except for the optional square light and atmospheric radar. Both of those components can be obtained from starter outposts, if desired, as can many more such as engines and adjusters. The blueprint has level 5 placement for space, atmo, tanks. Honeycomb colors can be easily changed now, so go crazy! (purple and green not required) Because it weighs less than 10 tons, it can accelerate to 50,000 kph max speed. On a round trip it will use about half of the XS fuel tank with no talents. Plenty of reserve for emergency turn-and-burn braking if necessary! This little ship is a lot of fun to fly and can get you to any place in the solar system at a fraction the cost of UEF ships.
