Though the vessel is named "Corvette Class" the ship is in fact a Light Frigate, but was designed specifically to fill the maneuverable fleet escort role historically attributed to corvettes, and named accordingly. As well as playing a crucial part in most MCRN battlegroups, the Corvette is often deployed as a patrol vessel, customs enforcement craft and reconnaissance ship, taking advantage of its long range and versatility to serve the cause of the Martian Republic across the breadth of the solar system. It will surely lift more from a 1g planet but 10kt it what it is being rated at.
