If you don't plan on mining, it can be deleted. The Outpost is built on the top half of a Medium Core. It can be placed with the lower door at ground level, with half the core below the ground to allow for an underground factory. Or the core can be raised up as high as you want, and the lower door and support structure can be copy and pasted to extend it to the ground. The showroom area is just about the length and width of a large core large enough to showcase or store several small and extra small ships. The factory is five open floors of space with a floating control center. Currently have installed enough machines to make all parts basic thru advanced and have only used a quarter of available space.
