While superficially from a distance it still closely resembles the classic shape of the older designs, the retro World War II battleship-inspired characteristics of Leiji Matsumoto have been abandoned almost altogether for something quite dominating and alien. It is far larger at double the size and mass, and much more ridiculously defined and grossly detailed, to the point that the skull-and-crossbones feature a lower jaw, hollow eye sockets, and a spinal vertebrae-like structure extending from it across the middle of the forecastle. Ominous red lighting emits from the underside layers and various holes and vents of the ship, including the eye sockets. Instead of three turrets, there are three rings encircling the hull of the vessel mounted with four cannon turrets each, capable of moving along the circumference to cover up any blind spots. There are three "masts", the last of which a Jolly Roger flag is usually flown from. In the place of wings, there are four bony harpoon-like protrusions that point forwards, with the top two being longer and skinnier than the bottom two. More protrusions jut out towards the stern of the ship, with two culminating in hook shapes, and one resembling a short bony tail. The middle of the ship is seemingly built around a large spherical mass. The vessel has an overall rocky or bony texture across the whole body, with some parts looking as if they were warped or fused onto the ship. Perhaps most interestingly of all, this depiction manages to still retain a semblance of the original bridge and superstructure, even the shape of the wood-like galleon stern remains intact. The Valkyrie RAR represents the newest addition of the Metsys Industrial Systems' fleet of purpose-crafted spacefaring vessels, as well as the continued progression of craftsmanship of this rather quiet manufacturing shipyard. With their goal of creating a reliable all-rounder ship, capable of fulfilling a multitude of roles, yet remaining distinctively generally performant for what ever job the ship may be used, MIS succeeded in creating the Valkyrie "Reliable All-Rounder". Despite the Valkyrie's unique and unorthodox design, this atmosphere-space-hybrid may be pushed to transport up to 3 kilotons of cargo, or 3 times her dry weight. Equipped with a medium advanced shield module by default and suitably unoccupied hull spaces, the ship may be used as an armed blockade runner, intentionally refitted for combat roles or it may simply rely on its shield to escape any confrontation all-together. Naturally the Valkyrie also comes with warp module technology to quickly reach any desired destination of her captain. Additionally the MIS shipyards put a certain focus on interior design of the ship to maximize comfort for long journeys. The crew deck offers space for up to 3 additional crew members, a kitchen, a workstation computer, wardrobes, a medbay and naturally a shower and a bathroom. The captain may enjoy an additional personal bedroom with a viewport out to the stars, aswell as their own personal bathroom. A colossal amount of work went into making it - about 600 hours - most of it spent on voxels (back when we didn't have the vertex precision tool and we had to modify voxels through arcane methods called 'Voxelmancy'). It has a detailed and pleasant interior and a carefully sculpted outer hull. The Vector also has excellent engineering. It's narrow; less that 400m² forward cross section, allowing it to reach speeds greater than 1600kmh in atmo (if you don't mind a few things exploding). It can haul a substantial amount of cargo; designer testing has achieved 1g escape with 5kt of cargo in the standard basic engines model (with maxed buffs and piloting talents). With higher tier military engines, it can lift up to 8kt for a skilled pilot. Volume capacity is 2.3ML(12 L containers), with external attach points for six additional L containers, allowing expansion up to 3.45ML with only a minor increase in forward cross section. The ship also has a strong and balanced adjustor profile, a small hangar for speeders, and a spacious tech bay to add role-specific elements such as a DSAT, large shield, or AGG. I tried to make the best M-core I possibly could, and I'm proud of the Vector.
