If you don't plan on mining, it can be deleted. The Outpost is built on the top half of a Medium Core. It can be placed with the lower door at ground level, with half the core below the ground to allow for an underground factory. Or the core can be raised up as high as you want, and the lower door and support structure can be copy and pasted to extend it to the ground. Let off steam after a long day in the factory on your own functional basketball court. Use the manoeuvre tool to throw the balls across the court into the hoop.
