Wanted something easy on the repairs and building costs, while still providing enough power to be viable in most situations. Result is the ORCA, a light weight ship on a S core. Comes equiped with 9 M containers for storage (so basically half a hub full of L containers), L fuel tanks (M for rockets), warp drive and everything you could need in a ship: VR, res pod, a bunch of scripts and various screen infos. Cargo capacity will vary alot depending on engines tier, handling talents and pilot talents. With all those maxed and using rockets, it should be able to carry up to 2kt out of 1g gravity. More reasonably, with basic engines and low handling / pilot talents, it will start at 300tons. Basic engines will probably cap near 500tons. Keep in mind it was originally designed with T3 engines and average pilot talents / maxed handling. So, for example, with basic engines and talents, it will be able to carry a DSAT out of 1g, but not by very much - if you come back fully loaded you'll most likely just crash. Ship is built on bottom of core with as little elements on top as possible, so you can place a DSAT or 3 scanners. Detailed interior, many hours spent on the voxels (finally used smooth tool!) Select a few roids and mark down their Planet area and location. In the Safe Zone look for Uncommon asteroids and in the PVP zone look for asteroids that are over 200 SU away. In the safe zone you want roids that have not been broadcast very long so 1-3 days old, but in the PVP zone you want roids that are 3-9 days old. The reason for this is that more recent roids in the PVP zone have more action. Ideally you'll find a roid 3-9 days old that hasn't been touched and will be safe to mine without worry of Legion. The truth is, there are just too many roids for Legion to patrol and the further away from Alioth you are the harder it is for them to patrol. You may want to avoid Teoma as they have bases there and may patrol that region more often. Avoid any roids just over the PVP zone as this is where everyone gets killed. Legion targets it because its where alot of people go. Follow this advise and I'm sure you'll find success. You should make upwards of 5m/hr, so paying off the cost of the ship is easy resulting in a very good risk reward for PVP roiding. If you want to hunt and discover Roids, put a DSAT in the inventory and stick it on when needed. I'll offer a guarantee that if you have not paid off the cost of the ship with Roid earnings and you get killed following these instructions I will give you a free Blueprint and send you funds for new ship costs. This baby turns heads wherever you go. This is my personal daily driver. If you are looking for a ship that can haul multi kilotons of cargo then this is NOT the ship for you. This is not a workhorse. This is a piece of art. This ship was based on a 3D model which can be seen in the pics. This ship was built to scale as the model had human models built in. I had to highly modify the back end and add nacels in order to facilitate as much thrust as I could due to the unfortunate size of DU's engine models. I have tested this with 1KT of cargo leaving both entering and leaving Alioth with Level 4 talents. It is doable but it is not fun. I would say that this ship's happy place is around 800 tons. The top "hood" took many hours to nail down moving point by point to get the slope and lines just right. I would have loved to add more detail however I was limited by chunk complexity in most areas. The same model ship that Luthen Rael prefers in Andor, the Fondor Haulcraft is a small-core hubrid hauler with warp drive. It has the equivalent of 1 1/2 Large containers of cargo space. It can lift around 450 to 600 tons off Alioth. Its meant to be a daily driver. Small enough to warp, large enough to carry a respectable load, and fast enough to get in and out quick. Notice the full detail interior as close to the show ship as I can manage. Round hallways! I build a lot of ships, but I really like this one and its my current daily driver. Alien vessel that looks like "The Whirlpool" collectible or is it the other way around? Did someone make a collectible item after this amazing alien vessel? It's capable of anti-gravity hovering and has hidden elements, apart from AGG and top elevator that is sticking out a bit, so that you can go back inside! It's almost as long as L core allows, bit shorter, maybe 95% of L core lenght. 20x L atmo engines (8x freight, 12x maneuver) 3x XL space engines (2x maneuver, 1x freight) 20x L containers (room for many more!) most of interior is empty, so you can put whatever you like in there. you can hide entire dsat in the middle part, without it sticking out. aim it towards the engines, so bottom of dsat is against engines. however wings and engines will be problematic if you want to keep them hidden. Tested with 8kt and it had no problems lifting it, however low altitude lift was barely enough, so if you want to lift more than 8kt off the ground, then you need to add some hovers or replace some hovers with vboosters as they give more lift. it's not meant to pickup cargo from ground tho, that's why it has AGG for. If you want it to carry even more, then you can add downwards engines, there's plenty of room for that. you should be able to put at least 30 L-size downwards engines on it.
