The Levante - "real" sailboat

The Levante by Hagbard "A person without dreams is like a boat without sails..." The Levante is a sailboat that allows you to experience the wind, the waves, the ride and heeling of a sailboat in DU. Big portions of the voxelwork for the hull was done by Singularity org. **IMPORTANT: read the BP placing instructions below!** BP Dispensers are at Marina Hagbard: ::pos{0,2,38.3028,62.7694,34.7477} I am offering this BP a lot cheaper then usually as i want to see the seas of our planet full with boats, so that you're all able to enjoy this new kind of construct. Features: - accurate simulation of wind, waves and the sea - sails settable by "G" key in 4 levels Shift+G reduces Sail surface by 1/4 - 2 steering options either you can steer with a non centering rudder or with A/D controls similar to how other constructs are being steered. Switch during operation by pressing "Alt+1" - engine limited to marina use (when sails are down). thrust Limit applies(max 10%) - extensively tested on the seas of Alioth (other planets might require adjustments, contact me for assistance) - Wind (&Rudder) Indicator (visible for the helmsman) - configurable sail texts & colors (see LUA parameters) - HoverEngine Technology allows almost infinite fuel autonomy - the Levante is compactable, so take it on your next vacation by the sea ;-) Blueprint Instructions: - there is one manual step required after setting the BP. go to build mode and right click the backward facing hover engine. under Advanced=>"disable thrust along gravity" has to be selected for the backward facing hover engine - if you want to have the original light colors, set back left to "255,0,0" and back right to "0,255,0" front light: enable blinking and set on duration to 0.1 This could be used for Regattas as well, as the speed is defined by the skills of the skipper and his/her ability to find the best course for maximum performance Some "sailing tips": - the speed you can reach depends on your angle towards the wind. the faster you go the more "heel" you will get and the more active correction of your course will be required to stay on a straight line. - It is not possible to sail directly into the wind. To sail against the wind direction you have to "cross". - to moor at your pier the auxiliary engine can be used, but only when the sail is down. It is limited to 10% of max thrust. - if you do not have a proper pier yet, you can hover up a bit using the space bar to get the boat on your plattform... (better build yourself a small marina & pier) - the ECU should always be activated/armed. when you leave the helm, this will keep the boat from sinking to the ground. After jumping on your pier, quickly touch the boat to moore it to the pier. - if you find that the boat is unable to stay on the water surface, this is usually some physic bug in the client. just get out of the seat and try again (maybe after maneuvering the boat a bit) BP's will be made available again soon(TM)

Here comes the sun... If you are looking for a reliable hauler and you want to shine like a star at the same time, this treasure is made for you! Nova is specialized on hauling heavy loads out of atmosphere. With 10 Uncommon Optimized Container L (8 x L container + 2 x L container cargo extension), she can haul up to 3800 tons out of Alioth atmo (tested, full 3800 t needs some ground speed of min. 800 km/h). Different from usual interior ship designs, Nova provides a feeling of freedom due to the spacious structure of the interior and has room for additional interior extension as well. Wanted something easy on the repairs and building costs, while still providing enough power to be viable in most situations. Result is the ORCA, a light weight ship on a S core. Comes equiped with 9 M containers for storage (so basically half a hub full of L containers), L fuel tanks (M for rockets), warp drive and everything you could need in a ship: VR, res pod, a bunch of scripts and various screen infos. Cargo capacity will vary alot depending on engines tier, handling talents and pilot talents. With all those maxed and using rockets, it should be able to carry up to 2kt out of 1g gravity. More reasonably, with basic engines and low handling / pilot talents, it will start at 300tons. Basic engines will probably cap near 500tons. Keep in mind it was originally designed with T3 engines and average pilot talents / maxed handling. So, for example, with basic engines and talents, it will be able to carry a DSAT out of 1g, but not by very much - if you come back fully loaded you'll most likely just crash. Ship is built on bottom of core with as little elements on top as possible, so you can place a DSAT or 3 scanners. Detailed interior, many hours spent on the voxels (finally used smooth tool!) Mk2 BP currently comes with basic engines and no rockets to make it easier to spawn. Recently I've been asked again and again if I can make my Warp Shuttle available outside of the organization. And here it is. The design is based on Promethean Guard's IVEC Warp Shuttle, but this is a complete rebuild with many design improvements that I personally liked better. Because of the rare engines, it might be a bit expensive for beginners, but through many tests I was able to get the best possible result for myself in this combination. After many months of working on it, I'm proud to present the STAR SHAPER MK 1.0. Before starting the description of the ship, all the statistics given on the page are done with the cargo capacity fulfilled @80% to not over states the presentation and to give a proper vision of the ship with cargo on it. And those stats are provided with LVL 5 talents for ship. SO once builded you need to upgrade the talents on it to 5. This ship is dedicated to mission / asteroid mining as it integrate a DSAT inside giving you the opportunity to fly from an asteroid to another one with a 4 L Containers capacity as main hub + 2 S Containers as secondary Hub for warp cells. The Star Shaper is perfectly balanced to provide the best flying experience to their users. Their is obviously an interior design with multiple rooms dedicated to game aspect apart a meeting room which is their for the roleplay. The Star Shaper is equipped with an anti gravity engine and a dock on the below part of the ship that can give access to a small pocket ship. With this setup you can stop on altitude where you want to go and just take your pocket ship to go down on surface staying in distance from your linked containers, which gives you the opportunity to go to market doing business without landing. The DSAT is accessible / can be monitored from the cockpit and is perfectly integrated into the ship to provide the best design / look & feel. The anti gravity engine is also monitored via the cockpit with a screen & a script that allow to setup the anti gravity altitude / set status of the AntiGrav (Active / Offline) The ship is equipped with the standard scripts: - Ship info - Archeo orbital HUD - Warp map - Anti gravity monitoring The Star Shaper as been tested multiple times / adjusted to reach the perfect balanced announced further. It can go to space from Allioth with 4KT cargo weight without any problems which is approx the max capacity of the cargo space with a mix of different T1 Ores. I didn't test it with full Emathite but due to the buffer of power the ship goes it will works without any problems. I hope this ship will satisfy your needs, and that the design will be appreciated by the DU players. Arcadia Albator Warforged (Multicore)

While superficially from a distance it still closely resembles the classic shape of the older designs, the retro World War II battleship-inspired characteristics of Leiji Matsumoto have been abandoned almost altogether for something quite dominating and alien. It is far larger at double the size and mass, and much more ridiculously defined and grossly detailed, to the point that the skull-and-crossbones feature a lower jaw, hollow eye sockets, and a spinal vertebrae-like structure extending from it across the middle of the forecastle. Ominous red lighting emits from the underside layers and various holes and vents of the ship, including the eye sockets. Instead of three turrets, there are three rings encircling the hull of the vessel mounted with four cannon turrets each, capable of moving along the circumference to cover up any blind spots. There are three "masts", the last of which a Jolly Roger flag is usually flown from. In the place of wings, there are four bony harpoon-like protrusions that point forwards, with the top two being longer and skinnier than the bottom two. More protrusions jut out towards the stern of the ship, with two culminating in hook shapes, and one resembling a short bony tail. The middle of the ship is seemingly built around a large spherical mass. The vessel has an overall rocky or bony texture across the whole body, with some parts looking as if they were warped or fused onto the ship. Perhaps most interestingly of all, this depiction manages to still retain a semblance of the original bridge and superstructure, even the shape of the wood-like galleon stern remains intact. It is now powered with dark matter engines that are hexagonal in shape. The ship is in work in progress

Phantom

Phantom is my first M core art build. It's built out of carbon fiber to keep the weight down, but also to give it this cool chromish look. I haven't even made a proper video on it, but here's my first version of it and first test flight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9YNFEVcSoM (on this video it's not complete, it's missing warp and some wings). INTERIOR: cool looking interior, with bridge/cockpit, 2x crew quarters and cargo area. cockpit has switches and lights that will let you turn stuff on/off and lights will indicate what's on/off. fuel tanks are also nicely places behind hatches, which are opened by a switch and lights turn on, in other words, i put some time into designing the interior. one crew quarter is pretty much empty, so you can make your own design in there. FORWARD ENGINES: 12x L basic atmospheric engines and 4x L basic space engines NOTE - cargo capacity and lift are not absolute and are easily modifyable! I made it as art-build, but it performs quite well as hauler. currently it only had 4x L containers, but you can easily easily put more containers. I think you can quite easily fit +6 to 8 L containers into it, so total of 10-12 i'd say. there's also some room for more wings if needed, only problem with heavy loads might be hovers. I have tested about 2000t and it had absolutely no problem lifting it with low level talents (level 2-3). if you have "heavy foot", you might want to put L space fuel tank on it, because i have M only and it runs out quite fast if you're hammering it. with full tank, it's enough to make a round trip from plant to planet, so in other words, it can escape atmosphere twice, but with cargo it might be an issue, so have some extra fuel or get L space fuel tank. You have to land anyway, so i see no harm in refuelling in meanwhile. I'm not very happy with some voxel work outside as there's a bug where voxels look fine in build mode, but when i exit build mode, they twist into something else. it's hard to fix those as in build mode it looks fine, so i don't know what to adjust, but otherwise it's fine.

Time to head to the market, and pick up some stuff? What will you need for that? A container! I've built a market runner/small hauler, that looks like a container. :P It's 150% the size of an Expanded Basic Container XXL, so it's nearly as long as a full S core. It will take 1.5 kT without problems, and if you have decent piloting talents, its should also handle 2 kT. I've personally taken 2.25 kT of cargo into space without difficulty, with level 5 buffs and level 4 piloting talents. See stats on the last picture.
